Red phone!? Wow, that's straight outta some Batman episode? Now, in my head, Isreal is this comic book city, full of superheros and shady characters. And scenes like this one:

Ring, Ring.

"Commissioner, it's the RED phone!... Hello... A suspicious character!? Where? Thanks!"

Commissioner: "Well..."

"A potential bomber!!! What should we do?"

"Get Super Jew on the line right away! And give that shmuck with the tip a coupla happy meals for his help."

...Now that I've offended every Jewish person from Isreal to New York, lemme say that I don't thinks the violence is a laughing matter. But the red phones (with the curly wire, as you describe) do things to the imagination.

And I do think that the N-word in Isreal is a great story. Good for a quick documentary too. Who are these, "Niggers" for which they would use (or ban) that word? Did they once have a proble with jocks saying: "...And that was that NIGGER biggie smalls. What a great rappin NIGGER. Almost better than Matisyahu."

But I'm really impressed that they would be that sensitive to the N-word for it to be one of two words banned. I mean, in America, you CAN say it on the radio and on TV for that matter (ask Star or Dave Chappelle). And this is the place the word was made for.

Good for Isreal, and better for the niggers there.

israelis by and large don't have the sensitivity to the n word that americans do. there is no such thing as political correctness in this society. and because there is no history of black slavery or civil rights in this country, people are generally unaware of its significance. their only familiarity with it comes from american television, movies and music. and you know, it's always these very cool people who are saying it -- actors, musicians -- so they don't understand how derogatory it is.

the other thing is, frankly, that many israelis are racist. and it's something i find deplorable, and troubling, and something i, as a resident of israel, struggle against and work to eradicate within my community and this society as a whole.
